Classes We Offer

Children's Ballet
Pre-Ballet
An introduction to movement, music, and beginning ballet for ages 3-5 year-old. Class is 45 minutes once a week.
Level A
These classes are beginning ballet lessons, which help the student transition from Pre-Ballet to a structured ballet class. Recommended for ages 6 and up, this class includes stretch, barre and center, learning positions, combinations, and ballet vocabulary. Curriculum requirements 1.5-hour class once a week. Students performing in the summer workshop attend 1 hour extra for rehearsal.
Level B
This class builds on the technique learned in Level A and progresses to more advanced technique and combinations. Recommended ages 7 and up; instructor approval required. Full curriculum requirements: 1.5-hour class twice a week. Students performing in the summer workshop attend 1 hour extra per class for rehearsal.
Recommended options: Jazz I or Jazz II
Level C
This class prepares the students for the advanced level ballet lessons, building on the technique learned in level B. It includes pre-pointe 3x/week to prepare the students for pointe shoes. Recommended ages 8 and up; instructor approval required. Full Curriculum requirements: Ballet technique 3x/week, pre-pointe 3x/week. Total 6 hours a week
Students performing in the summer workshop or Cinderella attend 1 hour extra per class for rehearsal.
Recommended options: Jazz II (or Jazz III with prior experience), Character, Contemporary and Musical Theater

Advanced Ballet
Levels D & E
Advanced level ballet lessons, which include stretch, technique, and pre-pointe or pointe. Recommended ages 12 and up. Enrollment with instructor approval only.
Full Curriculum
Level D:
Ballet technique & Pointe 4x/week; total 10 hours a week. Students performing in the summer workshop attend one hours extra on Mondays and Wednesdays for rehearsal, and 2 hours extra on Wednesday & Thursday for Cinderella rehearsal
Recommended options: Character, Contemporary, Jazz II or III and Hip Hop.
Level E
Ballet technique & Pointe 5x/week. Total 12.5 hours a week. Students performing in the summer workshop attend an hour extra on Mondays and Wednesdays for rehearsal, and 2 hours extra on Wednesdays & Thursdays for Cinderella rehearsal
Recommended options: Character, Contemporary, Jazz III, Hip Hop

Pre-Professional Program
The pre-professional program is designed for intermediate through advanced level students interested in pursuing a career in professional dance. Enrollment by audition or instructor approval only.
Level C:
Ballet technique 1 1/2 hours 3x/week, Pre-Pointe 3x/week, Performance rehearsal 1x/week. Total 8 hours a week
Recommended options: Jazz II or III, Hip Hop, Contemporary, or Character
Level D:
Ballet technique: 1 1/2 hours 4x/week, Pointe: one hour 4x/week; Contemporary 1x/week, Performance rehearsal 3x/week Total 16.5 hours a week
Recommended Options: Jazz III, Hip Hop, Character
Level E:
Ballet technique: 1 1/2 hours 5x/week, Pointe one hour 5x/week, Contemporary 1x/week, Character 1x/week Performance rehearsal 3x/week. Total 19.50 hours a week
Recommended Options: Jazz III, Hip Hop

Preteen Beginning Ballet
This class is designed for older children or teens interested in starting to study ballet. No dance experience required. Recommended ages 9 - 13. A one hour class once a week.
Adult/Teen Beginning Ballet
If you've always wanted to learn to dance, but never had the chance, this is the class for you. This is a beginning level ballet class, for adults and teens 16 years of age and older. No dance experience required. A one hour class once a week
Ballet for Figure Skaters I & II
This is a Ballet class specifically designed for students who are figure skaters. Choose level I for beginners (ages 6 -8) or Level II for Intermediate level (ages 9-18) class. This is a one hour class once a week
Character
This class is for intermediate to advance level dancers, and teaches the stylized representation of movements and styles from traditional and national folk dances, used to provide divertissements for story ballets. This class focuses on Russian and Spanish character dance. Required for Pre-Professional Program.

Contemporary
This class teaches a style of expressive dance that combines elements of modern, jazz, lyrical, and classical ballet. This is an intermediate/advanced level class, open to ages 10 and up, or with instructor permission. Required for Pre-Professional levels D & E. The class meets for 1.5-hours once a week
Jazz II
A beginning level jazz class, for students in levels B and C, or ages 8-12. 1-hour class once a week
Jazz III
An intermediate/advanced jazz class for students ages 10 and up, or with instructor permission. 1 hour class once a week. Some jazz experience recommended.
Hip Hop (intermediate/advanced)
An intermediate/advanced hip hop class for students ages 10 and up, or with instructor permission. 1 hour class once a week. Some hip-hop experience recommended.
Limitless
Ages 5 – adult. This program is designed for individuals with physical or developmental disabilities. Students will be able to express themselves through movement & dance in a safe, structured environment. The program will help students develop movement & dance skills, and gain exposure to the arts, while building self-confidence, self-esteem, and social skills
Fitness Classes
WERQ Fitness
WERQ fitness is the fiercely fun dance fitness class based on pop, rock, and hip-hop music. This is a one hour class once a week.
